A scientific Team visits the State Company for Mining Industry / Ministry of Industry and Minerals

A scientific team from the Department of Chemical Engineering was visited the State Company for Mining Industry / Ministry of Industry and Minerals on Sunday 21/1/2018 headed by Prof. Dr. Thamir Jassim Mohammed. The members of the scientific team were Prof. Dr. Mona Khudair Abbas, Asst. Prof. Dr. Lama Adnan Hamid, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Fadel Abdel, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Hager Zine El Abidine. Both Asst. Prof. Dr Fadel Abbas Hashem and Asst. Prof. Dr. Salah Salman Ibrahim were apologized for attending the meeting because of exam Obligations. The meeting was held with representatives of the company under the chairmanship of the assistant director of the company Eng. Younis Sheal Fahad, in the presence of representatives of the industrial research and development department. During the meeting, the greetings of the president of the University of Technology prof. Dr. Amin Daway Thamir were conveyed and valued the importance of enhancing the fruitful cooperation between the university and companies of the Ministry of Industry to solve the technical problems facing our national industry During the meeting, the problems and technical constraints of some of the company's projects were presented to the possibility of finding solutions by the professors of the university of technology according to their specialization, and also the five-year research plan of the company and the possibility for the contribution of the departments in the university of technology in the adoption of a part from these research as research projects for MSc and PhD students.  It was agreed to submit a report on the problems and the research plan and documented them in an official letter to the University of Technology in order to find solutions for them by the team and university professors in engineering departments, with the expansion of the paragraphs of the memorandum of understanding to be signed between the State Company for Mining Industry and the Department of Production Engineering and Metallurgy to include other departments within the university of technology such as chemical engineering and materials engineering departments or others.
