On the occasion of the end of his term as scientific aide to the head of the department, Prof. Dr. Adnan Abdul-Jabbar Abdul-Razak was honored in recognition of his distinguished efforts during his tenure as scientific aide to the head of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology and in gratitude for the effort he made in assuming the responsibility that was placed on him, as well as the tireless efforts in pursuing the work in order to raise the scientific level that befits this department. The Head of the Chemical Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajmi Sukkar, expressed his thanks and gratitude by granting him a document of thanks and appreciation for his sincerity and dedication to the tasks entrusted to him. For his part, Prof. Dr. Adnan Abdul-Jabbar Abdul-Razak expressed his thanks and appreciation to everyone for these noble sentiments, wishing them success and prosperity in their scientific career in service to the Department of Chemical Engineering and our dear university.

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Al-Ghabban, and under the title (The Earth is in Danger... Together We Protect It). The Chemical Process Engineering Branch in the Department of Chemical Engineering/University of Technology organized a scientific symposium on climate change and its impact on the environment on Tuesday, 13/2/2024. At the beginning of the symposium, Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajmi Sukkar, Head of the Chemical Engineering Department, welcomed the attendees and gave a speech in which he expressed the importance of developing solutions to the problems of climate change due to its effects on the Earth in general and regional countries in particular. On the other hand, Prof. Dr. Khalid Turki Rashid, Director of the Osmotic Membrane Research Unit, provided a detailed explanation of the activities of this unit since its establishment in 2012. The symposium included scientific lectures by Dr. Fouad Hussein Saeed from the General Authority for the maintenance of irrigation and drainage projects, Asst. Prof. Montaser Abdel Hamid Abd from the Middle Technical University, and Dr. Amir Jawad Kazem from the General Authority of Groundwater. During the symposium, a detailed presentation was given on the nature of the impact of climate change on the management of water resources in Iraq and its relationship to the decline in water levels and groundwater management in Iraq. The scientific session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Qusay Fadhel Alsalhy, while the session rapporteur was Asst. Lect. Maryam Tareq Hasan. At the end of the symposium, certificates of appreciation were awarded by the Head of the Chemical Engineering Department to the lecturers in appreciation of their efforts in delivering lectures.
